The Dietary Guidelines, 2020–2025 aims to help all Americans follow a healthy eating pattern at every stage of life. Nutrition isn’t one-size-fits-all, so the Dietary Guidelines offers a framework that people can use to find a dietary pattern that works for them.
In line with its lifespan approach, this edition of the Dietary Guidelines includes:
- New recommendations for infants and toddlers
- Expanded recommendations for people who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Updated recommendations for children and adolescents, adults, and older adults
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) jointly developed and published the Dietary Guidelines. The full guidelines and other resources are available on DietaryGuidelines.gov.
