White House and President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition Announce Historic Partnership with Major Sports Leagues and Players Unions

Today, the White House, in conjunction with the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition, announced a new partnership with major sports leagues and players associations.  The goal of the partnership is to expand access to physical activity, increase nutrition education and messaging, and promote healthy lifestyles to people across the nation.

This historic partnership springs from the Biden-Harris administration’s 2022 White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health, where the President announced a National Strategy to end hunger and reduce diet-related diseases by 2030, and close disparities among the most impacted communities.

Today’s announcement is a step toward reaching that goal and serves as one of the commitments in the administration’s White House Challenge to End Hunger and Build Healthy Communities.

To date, fourteen sports leagues and players associations have signed agreements with the President’s Council as part of this new partnership.  This endeavor will reach the millions of people who participate in their programs each year.
