ODPHP Wins the Grand ClearMark Award for MyHealthfinder Anxiety Topics Pages

The Center for Plain Language has honored ODPHP and CommunicateHealth with its 2024 Grand ClearMark Award for the new MyHealthfinder Anxiety Topics pages. Judges said that it “conveys a clear sense that the authors carefully considered the needs of the audience and want them to succeed.” The MyHealthfinder Anxiety Topics pages were also the winner in the Websites category and were praised for “showcasing fantastic design along with an empathetic, human, and accessible writing style.”

The ClearMark Awards recognize the best in plain-language communications — in English, French, and Spanish — from government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and private companies in North America.  Held at the National Press Club, the award ceremony honored contributions from a wide range of sectors. Entries were reviewed by 31 volunteer judges, including former journalists, professors, and plain-language experts.

MyHealthfinder features more than 100 plain language health topics and tools in English and Spanish — and an assessment tool with tailored recommendations for clinical preventive services (CPS) based on age, sex, and pregnancy status. In 2023, ODPHP partnered with CommunicateHealth to draft new MyHealthfinder topic webpages that address the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force’s recommendations on screening people of different ages for anxiety.
