The Community Preventive Services Task Force (CPSTF) recommends universal motorcycle helmet laws that apply to everyone who drives or rides on a motorcycle. Motorcycle helmet laws require motorcycle drivers and passengers to wear a helmet when riding on public roads. CPSTF found that universal helmet laws increase helmet use, reduce deaths and injuries related to motorcycles, and are more effective than partial helmet laws (which only apply to some motorcycle drivers).
