The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends screening for HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) for:
- All pregnant women
- All people ages 15 to 65
- Other people who ask to be tested for sexually transmitted infections (including HIV)
- Other people at an increased risk for HIV infection
