Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) Infection: Screening

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends screening for HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) for:

  • All pregnant women
  • All people ages 15 to 65
  • Other people who ask to be tested for sexually transmitted infections (including HIV)
  • Other people at an increased risk for HIV infection
