Methodology
The Food Programs Reporting System (FPRS) is a web-based national reporting system used by FNS program administrators to submit data to USDA/FNS. Its purpose is to facilitate the reporting of data for all FNS programs. FPRS consolidates certain programmatic and financial data reporting requirements in an electronic system and is the primary collection point for FNS program performance statistics and financial data from state agencies, Indian tribal organizations, and U.S. territories participating in the nutrition assistance programs. State agencies are required to report data for each program on a regular (quarterly or monthly) basis. FNS uses this data for payment and to track participation in the programs. State, territories, and tribal agencies responsible for administering FNS programs assemble data from individual program sites and report aggregate data to FNS through the FPRS reporting system.
