Summary

According to the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, students with disabilities should be in a regular classroom environment whenever possible. In recent years, an increased number of students with disabilities have spent most of their school day in a regular classroom — but many still don’t. Programs and policies that help students with disabilities participate in regular classroom environments may increase their opportunities for educational, physical, and social activities.
