Methodology notes

Adolescents are considered to have used a method of contraception at first intercourse if they reported they were sexually experienced and their partner used a method of contraception at their first sexual intercourse. Sexually experienced refers to females who have ever had sexual intercourse with a male and males who have ever had sexual intercourse with a female.
