This action plan builds on 3 previous action plans. It is the first to aim to end viral hepatitis as a public health threat in the United States. The plan gives a vision for how the United States can become a place where:

  • New viral hepatitis infections are prevented
  • Every person knows whether they have viral hepatitis
  • Every person with viral hepatitis has high-quality health care and treatment and lives free from stigma and discrimination

The plan includes 5 major goals, objectives, and strategies to achieve these goals. It also provides indicators with measurable targets to monitor progress toward meeting goals.
