Use of 9-Valent Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Vaccine: Updated HPV Vaccination Recommendations of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices

The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) recommends the Gardasil 9 vaccine as one of 3 vaccines to be used to prevent HPV (human papillomavirus). ACIP recommends HPV vaccination for groups including:

  • Children ages 11 or 12 years 
  • Females ages 13 to 26 years and males ages 13 to 21 years who haven’t been vaccinated before
  • Other high-risk populations who haven’t been vaccinated
