In this Cochrane systematic review, researchers looked at the benefits of providing vision rehabilitation services remotely (via computers or smartphones) for people with low vision. Through vision rehabilitation, people learn to use magnification devices and techniques to make the most of their remaining vision.

Researchers found 2 ongoing studies, but no completed study that addressed this question — further research is needed.
