Psychosocial Interventions for Women Enrolled in Alcohol Treatment During Pregnancy

About this resource:

Systematic Review

Source: The Cochrane Collaborative

Last Reviewed: July 2008

In this Cochrane systematic review, the Cochrane Collaborative could not determine the effectiveness of psychosocial interventions in pregnant people who are in alcohol treatment programs. They searched for studies that compared any psychosocial intervention to other treatment or no treatment for pregnant or postpartum people in alcohol treatment. Researchers didn’t find answers to their questions because no studies fit the search criteria. They concluded that well-designed trials are needed to identify the most effective therapy for this population.
