The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) found insufficient evidence to recommend for or against screening for type 2 diabetes in children and adolescents age 18 and younger. This applies to this population if there are no type 2 diabetes symptoms present. USPSTF has a separate recommendation in the case of pregnancy.
