The Community Preventive Services Task Force (CPSTF) recommends physical activity interventions that include activity monitors for adults with overweight or obesity. These interventions include counseling, group-based education, or web-based education, and participants get activity monitors that provide regular feedback. CPSTF found that the interventions increase physical activity but noted that more research is needed to determine whether people maintain their increased physical activity levels over time.
