Interventions to Prevent Hearing Loss Caused By Noise at Work

About this resource:

Systematic Review

Source: The Cochrane Collaborative

Last Reviewed: July 2017

In this Cochrane systematic review, the Cochrane Collaborative found that research on the long‐term effects of interventions to reduce noise in workplaces is needed. The review included studies on non-pharmacological interventions to reduce work-related noise exposure and prevent hearing loss. Researchers found low-quality evidence that stricter legislation can reduce noise in workplaces and moderate-quality evidence that properly used earplugs reduce noise exposure.
