In this Cochrane systematic review, the Cochrane Collaborative found that for adults with mild to moderate hearing loss, hearing aids improve their: 

  • Ability to take part in everyday life 
  • General quality of life 
  • Ability to listen to other people

The review included studies in which participants got hearing aids, no hearing aids, or placebo hearing aids.
