Hepatitis C Virus Infection in Adolescents and Adults: Screening

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends screening for hepatitis C virus infection in adults ages 18 to 79 years. This screening often involves various noninvasive tests that are less likely than a liver biopsy to cause harm.
