The Community Preventive Services Task Force recommends using one-on-one education to increase breast cancer screening. In these interventions, health care workers, other health professionals, lay health advisors, and volunteers give people information by phone or in person about the need for screening. The interventions also include information on the benefits of screening and ways to overcome barriers. They can be tailored to reach specific people or more general to address the overall intended population.
