Offering the most comprehensive listing of assistive products available, AbleData provides information on almost 40,000 assistive products, 5,000 manufacturers and distributors, and 3,000 disability-related organizations as well as abstracts of over 11,000 books and articles relating to assistive technology. AbleData provides detailed descriptions of each product’s functions and features, price information (when available), and contact information for the manufacturer and distributors. The AbleData website, www.abledata.com offers free, 24/7 access to all of AbleData’s information resources. AbleData staff are available to respond to public inquiries about assistive technology by telephone via a toll-free number as well as by email, fax, text telephone, and regular mail. Staff are available 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m., Monday–Friday (eastern time) except Federal holidays. AbleData is funded by the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living, and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR).
