Step It Up for National Walking Day

Today, April 5th, is National Walking Day. In honor of this observance, CDC’s Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity is releasing a Status Report for Step It Up! The Surgeon General’s Call to Action to Promote Walking and Walkable Communities.

The Status Report and accompanying slide set summarizes the state of walking and walkability when the Call to Action was released in September 2015, as well as selected activities done since the release to sustain the messages and promote the goals established by the Surgeon General.

We are excited about the report and hope the release will continue to accelerate efforts to promote walking and walkable communities across the nation.
