This report presents the results from an evaluation of vaccine purchase financing in the United States. The report describes current and future challenges for the national immunization system. It also outlines the Institute of Medicine’s findings, conclusions, and recommendations for achieving national immunization goals. Specifically, the report provides evidence-based strategies to help federal, state, and congressional decision-makers ensure that vaccines are accessible and available and to encourage new vaccine development in the health care system.
