Celebrating Physical Fitness and Sports

May is National Physical Fitness and Sports Month! This month, organizations, schools, worksites, and communities across the nation are celebrating the benefits of being physically active, and the strides we've all made to help Americans move more. During May, take some extra time to enjoy the fun and excitement of being physically active with your friends, coworkers, and family.

‘Tis the season of New Years resolutions.  In honor of the holiday, we examine some of the potential barriers to meeting physical activity goals, as well as strategies for overcoming those barriers:

 

  • Self-assessment:  Barriers to exercise (Source:  American College of Sports Medicine).  After completing this brief survey, users receive response-based tips on tackling their individual barriers to physical activity.

 

 

  • Home gym for less (Source:  WTVQ.com)  Tips on creating a home gym with a limited budget.
