Abstract

The Association of Gay and Lesbian Psychiatrists (AGLP) is involved in the following activities to accomplish its goal: publishes a quarterly newsletter and the Journal of Gay and Lesbian Psychotherapy; conducts seminars and discussion groups concurrent with the annual meeting of the American Psychiatric Association (APA); works within the APA to advocate for policies relevant to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered community; collaborates with other organizations of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered physicians and other minority and advocacy groups; provides referral services for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered patients; assists medical students and residents in their professional development; and encourages and facilitates the presentation of programs and publications relevant to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered concerns at professional meetings
