The purpose of the Division of Public Health is to use the best scientific knowledge to set public policy, and assure provision of services, which guarantee the health of all Alaskans, that they may live free lives with optimal well-being. The following sections are included in the division: Director's Office, Emergency Programs, Epidemiology, Women’s, Children’s & Family Health, Chronic Disease Prevention & Health Promotion, Health Planning & Systems Development, State Laboratory, State Medical Examiner’s Office, Public Health Nursing and Vital Statistics.
