The National Council For Adoption (NCFA) is an organization of nonprofit adoption agencies that provides information, monitors public policy, and promotes high standards in this field. The Council operates the National Adoption Hotline 24 hours a day, Monday through 9:00 a.m. Saturday. The hotline provides information and referrals to pregnant women and their families, to people who want to adopt a child, and to persons who were adopted.
The NCFA publishes bulletins, manuals, directories, and other materials for professionals in the field of adoption. Serial publications: Memos, weekly; National Adoption Reports (newsletter), monthly--news on Council activities and policy issues, articles on adoption.
