The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is a nonprofit membership association of over 100,000 that works on behalf of high quality programs for young children, birth through age 8. NAEYC sponsors the nation's largest educational conference, held each November. NAEYC also administers a voluntary accreditation system for early childhood programs. The Association's 450 state affiliates and local chapters sponsor workshops, conferences, and public awareness activities.
Publications
NAEYC publishes books, posters, and brochures for teachers and parents of young children, including several resources related to ensuring health and safety in child care. Serial publication: Young Children (journal), bimonthly--articles on child care, child development, and families, with regular features on the Association's activities and public policy affecting young children.
