Abstract

Consumer Healthcare Products Association (CHPA), founded in 1881, is the trade association representing the makers of over-the-counter medicines and dietary supplements. As such, the association acts as a liaison between the industry and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), The U.S. Federal Trade Commission (FTC), and Congress to ensure consumers have convenient access to safe and effective medicines and supplements. CHPA members companies are deeply committed to educating consumers about the appropriate and safe use of their products by supporting the CHPA Educational Foundation, the industryís nonprofitl foundation building a better understanding of responsible medicine use among consumers of all ages. Publications

CHPA publishes public educational pamphlets on the safe and appropriate use of over-the-counter medicines. These are available free of charge at: www.OTCsafety.org/publications.
